About The Categories More About The Contest HOW TO APPLY

WHO WE WANT:
Any Southern craftsman or entrepreneur looking for a better way to tell the story of his or her brand. Operations must be based in the South and fall under one of the following five categories: Food, Home, Style, Sporting, Etc.

WHAT THE CONTEST IS ALL ABOUT:
Celebrating the rich cultural tradition of Southern craft, design, and ingenuity, with an emphasis on small businesses.

HOW TO APPLY:
Enter your product in the category you deem the best fit. Should our judging panel think your product is better suited for a different category, it will consider it within that new category. There is a one-time application fee of $100. All applications must be submitted online or by mail no later than August 1, 2010. We will accept up to three product images with each application (think you, your product, your studio, your story...) Do NOT send us your product. The following information will be processed by a panel of judges at Garden & Gun and winners will be notified in early Fall 2010.

WHY YOU SHOULD ENTER:
Garden & Gun’s design panel will judge and select five winning entries in each category for publication in the December 2010/January 2011 issue of the magazine. Their winning stories will debut in our first-ever “Made in the South Awards” feature. One overall "General Excellence" winner will receive a trip to Charleston, South Carolina, for a business consultation with Leapfrog Public Relations Co. and Stitch Graphic Design, Southern firms known for bringing national attention and sophisticated style to small businesses based in the Southeast.
